I look forward to continuing to brave forward with all of you hidden heroes on this journey that we would have never chosen but yet we find ourselves here for such a time as this. There is no way around it. I have tried. There is no way out of it. I have tried. There is only one way, and that is through it.
It has been 17 months in the crucible of betrayal.
“The Marine Corps Crucible is a 54-hour event that every recruit must go through to become a Marine. It is the final training exercise that tests the recruits on the knowledge, skills, and values taught throughout training. The recruits are broken down into squads to face the Crucible challenges, which include food and sleep deprivation and over 45 miles of marching The Crucible tests every recruit physically, mentally, and morally and is the defining experience of recruit training.” (https://rp.marineparents.com/bootcamp/crucible.asp, FAQs for Parents | Marines)
We face the Betrayal Crucible. It is not just 54 hours. It is ongoing for a lifetime. It will bend us and for some, break us. Yet, I am learning that we can be beautifully broken as we press on and brave forward in our betrayal crucible.
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
